CONSENS is focused on development of new handheld sensors for detection of organophosphorus, triazine and phenolic based pesticides in food and water, based on molecularly imprinted polymers hybridized on molecular level with carbon nanomaterials (graphene, carbon nanotubes, graphene nanoribbons). Carbon nanomaterials bring excellent sensing platform and robustness, whereas the molecularly imprinted polymers provide specificity and selectivity. Conductive ink based on these hybrids will be 2D imprinted to create lab-on-gloves sensing devices for real-time on-site screening. The specificity of the sensors will allow detection of various illicit substances (dyes, drugs, household products or explosives). “On-finger” detection in a variety of specimens meets the demands of different environmental and safety applications, allowing fast response in protection and de-pollution.
